Pop Evil puts on the kind of strong, fiery, high-energy show you would expect from a west coast rock band. What you may not realize is that it’s the west coast of the great state of Michigan they call home. Their sincerity, the love they have for their fans, and the hard work they put in on the road more than 250 days out of the year is a dead giveaway that they are pure Michigan.
On Friday, February 24, Pop Evil may have been on the wrong side of the mitten, but you could feel the love they have for the fans in their home state. The crowd exploded in cheers as the band opened their set with “Trenches”, followed by “Last Man Standing”, and a cover of “Eye of the Tiger”. They also played favorites like “Deal with the Devil”, “Torn to Pieces”, and “Monster you Made”. The crowd was singing along the entire night, straight through to the encore of “Beautiful”, “Footsteps”, and “Take it All”.
This was a fun night with great music from a band we can all be proud to say is from Michigan.
